My Christmas Holidays

Image
This year's Christmas is filled with joy and love with my family. On December 29, we went on a joyful vacation and visited the historic Paoay Church. We were amazed by the beauty of its architecture and the serene environment that gave us the opportunity to pray and reflect. After this, we stopped by Robinsons to shop. The experience was very joyful because we could really feel the vibrant spirit of Christmas while shopping for gifts and necessities. On December 31, the entire Rabena family gathered for our year-end party. That day was joyful and full of life because of the delicious food, laughter, and stories. We all prepared everything together—from cooking the food to arranging the decorations. The event was made even more memorable with a gift exchange and an exciting program full with surprises and activities. We celebrated the New Year with joy at the stroke of midnight. Colorful fireworks...

New Year, New Goals

Image
The beginning of the year is a fantastic time to review objectives and make positive changes. Saving money is something I often take for granted, so this year I made the decision to focus on it. Back then, I often spent on unnecessary things, so my savings were always short when there was a sudden need. This year, I understood the importance of being careful with money, not only for security but to reach my dreams. To accomplish my goal of saving, I will plan carefully.I start by making a monthly budget to keep tabs on my expenses and identify areas for savings. Second, I'll set up a different savings account and contribute a portion of my monthly paycheck to it. Lastly, I'll learn to prioritize the things that are vital and refrain from purchasing items that aren't necessary. I know this process will not be easy. There are temptations and times when I may struggle to control spending. But I'm determined to stay disciplined and remember why I'm doing it. By the en...

Reflections on My HTML Journey(2nd Quarter): Challenges and Discoveries

Image
During this quarter, I have learned a lot about HTML, especially the importance of tags like the break rule, which is denoted as <br>, horizontal rule as <hr>, and various formatting tags. The tools helped me understand how to enhance text alignment using attributes and add background colors for aesthetic appeal.  However, I faced problems in my process, especially when working with tags for HTML images. Sometimes, the images did not appear correctly in my file, and I was frustrated and delayed by this. This taught me to be more precise with file paths and to double-check syntax to avoid mistakes. I asked my friends and classmates for help to overcome these problems. They gave me some guidance and also shared tips, such as ensuring that the paths to image files were correctly linked and that there were no typographical errors. Collaboration with them solved my problems and also strengthened my understanding of the concepts. I will keep on practicing and exploring HTML t...

Safeguarding Dignity: Understanding the Laws Protecting Women and Children from Violence and Abuse in the Philippines

The Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004, or Republic Act No. 9262 , was enacted as a prime law aimed at protecting women and their children from abuse and violence. Being violence against women as a public issue that demeans and puts in peril the dignity, safety, and equality of women and children, its existence underscores the necessity of implementing robust interventions through legal and social measures. It addresses both immediate harm and the systemic causes of gender-based violence as it includes physical, sexual, psychological, and economic abuse. Protection under R.A. 9262 is extended to women and their children, be it legitimate or illegitimate, against abusive partners or persons whom they may have had a romantic or sexual relationship with. The law offers remedies in the form of protection orders, including Barangay Protection Orders (BPO), Temporary Protection Orders (TPO), and Permanent Protection Orders (PPO). These are all intended to safegua...

The climate crisis has become one of the most pressing challenges for the Philippines, a nation highly vulnerable to natural disasters and environmental shifts. From super typhoons to prolonged droughts, these changes have devastating consequences for countless Filipinos, impacting their homes, livelihoods, and communities. Several factors contribute to these environmental changes. Unsustainable practices such as deforestation, pollution, and over-reliance on fossil fuels exacerbate climate change.
